When you try something new, the first step is the hardest.

When you try something new, the first step is the hardest.

More and more technical writers want to share their journey and knowledge. The good thing is, sharing is caring. Yet, some of us struggle with:

  1. What to write about
  2. What platform to document, and
  3. What tools to use

Most times, I find myself dangling and struggling to come up with something tangible; I waste so much time and end up doing nothing. I've made up my mind to start anyways, I'll grow from here. I firmly believe that progress is measured in baby steps.

Truth is, there is a plethora of content to write about, platforms, and tools to use. If you are an experienced writer, you probably have a lot of ideas to share. On the other hand, as a beginner, it can be tasking and tricky to come up with article ideas. The good thing is, you do not have to be an expert to be a technical writer or share your journey.

As a beginner, you can blog/document about the things you are learning and the issues that you encounter along the way.

By writing about something, it helps you retain the information.
What this does is:
• You consolidate your existing knowledge.
• You have a reference to fall back on just in case you need them, and
• It's a plus if someone finds your content useful.

P.s:
From the onset, do not worry about your number of followers or people that read your articles. If you focus on that from the beginning, you'll quickly get discouraged. Your main goal is to put yourself out there and track your progress.

Conclusion:
Instead of focusing and lingering on what you cannot do, practice writing and publishing.
In this space, watch out for how I translate technical jargon into terse (easy-to-understand) articles.

Thank you for making it to the end. Until next time, Byeeee!
